“Clinical Science program aims to produce researchers to do the transitional research that can be applied to our practice. During my research, we have the mentors and teams that support and made suggestions to me to do my research.  We have several conferences to discuss the problems and how to solve them.”

“Here, we have so many elective courses about research, basic methodology, biostatistics, publications, and research ethics. I’m now doing research on Invasive Fungal Sinusitis with Diabetes Mellitus in 3 cities, 3 countries collaboration: Thailand, Myanmar, and Malaysia. So, I’ve got so many international collaborations and opportunities.”

During my study in the PhD program in Clinical Sciences, I had an opportunity to conduct high-quality clinical research and developed appropriate methodologies. I’ve gained a lot of experiences from participation in the national and international research meeting. These experiences strengthen my research skills, soft skills, and networking. The skills are fundamental for my career path as a faculty member and a clinician-scientist in which the role of both instructor and researcher are required.

“The Thesis-only program is very beneficial to me because I can keep my full-time job and also pursue my studies at the same time.  What I like most about the program is the seminars and the Journal Club. In this club, we held meetings where we share our research progress with our classmates. And I got to be exposed to a lot of disciplines in medicine such as microbiology, surgery, and much more.”

During five years of studying, I have finished three clinical studies about the new knowledge of low-dose macrolide in chronic rhinosinusitis. I could not have done this without the excellent mentor and academic staff in the program that demonstrate proficiency in conducting clinical research
and managing the study team. They help me learn and develop myself in every step starting from the proposal design, analyze the data, and justify the results to make an accurate conclusion. I am very proud to be a PhD graduate from this perfect program.

I enjoyed studying in the Clinical Sciences program. Since students from many clinical disciplines joined this program, the bi-annual seminars were thought-provoking in a way that students were exposed to various study
methodologies and idea. I have gained substantial insights, skills and positive attitudes towards conducting research. With the great support from professors and advisors, I generated research proposal, conducted studies, and finally published results in international high-ranked journals.
